Omega-1 Aquarii is a white type-A star, lying about 142 light-years away in Aquarius, one of the oldest and most sprawling constellations of the zodiac. Aquarius, the Water-Bearer, was for the Sumerians the god An pouring out the rivers of the world. Omega-1 belongs to the long «stream» of faint stars that flows from the central jar down towards the south.
