Its story
In Grus, the Crane of the southern sky, pulses this K-class orange at two hundred and fifty light-years. Its light departed in 1776, the year the thirteen American colonies signed their Declaration of Independence. As a new nation was being born on one shore of the Atlantic, this coppery dot of the southern hemisphere was already sending out its photons —utterly oblivious to the fate of any nation.
