What is HIP 113562

Piscis Austrinus, that quiet figure of the southern sky, watches over this orange giant 686 light-years away. Its light departed in the fourteenth century, when the Black Death was sweeping through Europe and Boccaccio was writing the Decameron to ward off fear. A K-class flame that outlived a human disaster and still travels through space in silence.
