Its story
In the northern reach of Cepheus, beside the eternal king of the celestial north pole, shines a yellow-white star 110 light-years away. The light we see tonight departed in 1916, during the Battle of the Somme, while Europe was bleeding in the trenches. It is one of the sky's most intimate reminders: this flash carries exactly the age of the twentieth century's scars.
