It is a blue B-type star 347 light-years away, with a surface that comfortably exceeds 10,000 K and an intrinsic glow far brighter than the Sun's. B stars are fleeting on cosmic timescales: they burn with luminous violence and cross the stage quickly, leaving behind some of the most intense spectacles in the universe.

23 Pegasi lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is September: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
