Its story
19 Pegasi is an orange K-type star 541 light-years away, on the western flank of the Horse, well off the great square that defines the constellation. Its light —cooler and more golden than the Sun's— left around 1485, in the years before Columbus had crossed the Atlantic. It is one of those stars that only emerges under truly dark skies, well outside the tourist catalogue of Pegasus.
