Within the northern mists of Cepheus, this hot blue B-type star shines about 1500 light-years away. Its light began its voyage around the year 525, when Boethius was writing the Consolation of Philosophy and the Visigothic kingdoms were consolidating Toledo. Its blazing surface makes it one of those distant beacons that betray the arms of the galaxy. We see it as a blue sigh arriving from late antiquity.

HIP 107930 lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is September: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
