Hot blue starIts story
Cepheus keeps this hot O-class star at 1,977 light-years—its light departed around the year 49, when Paul of Tarsus was crossing Aegean cities writing letters to nascent communities. A massive blue star, ultraviolet-hungry, it lives in a region rich in gas and dust that will sooner or later return it to the cosmos as a supernova.
