Its story

ε Capricorni is a hot, rotating blue star more than a thousand light-years away, embedded in the body of the Goat-Fish, an ancient Mesopotamian figure preserved in the zodiac. Its brightness oscillates slightly, inherited from its unstable nature and from its circumstellar gas disc. It is one of the few such hot stars visible across that modest band of the southern autumn sky.
