Its story
4 Equulei is a yellow-white F-type star about 160 light-years away, kindled in the Little Horse —the second smallest constellation in the firmament—. Hotter and more luminous than the Sun, it holds a sharp light that betrays young stellar atmospheres. The beam crossing the eyepiece tonight set out around the mid-nineteenth century, the years astronomy was beginning to read the chemical composition of stars through their spectrum.
