What is 4 Cepheus
4 Cephei is a white A-type star 140 light-years away, in Cepheus —the constellation shaped like a little house with a pointed roof watching over the celestial north pole. The region holds the famous Delta Cephei, prototype of the Cepheids that Henrietta Leavitt used to measure the scale of the universe. Its light is a near neighbour in cosmic terms.

4 Cepheus lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky.
