Its story
It dwells in Cygnus, the swan stretching its wings along the summer Milky Way, ploughing the river of light that crosses the northern sky. Its orange tone places it among the K-class stars, already in maturity. Its light set out some 449 years ago, when Tycho Brahe was observing in Denmark the new star of 1572 and beginning to question the eternal immobility of the heavens. Broader than the Sun and slower in combustion, it lends its warm hue to the bluish-white display of the swan.
