Its story
64 Aquilae is an orange giant surprisingly close by, only 153 light-years away, in the body of the Eagle. Its amber tone stands out within a constellation dominated by the fierce white of Altair, one of the brightest stars of the summer sky. 64 Aquilae is one of those you find by leaving Altair and drifting slightly toward the wings. Its light set out in the late nineteenth century, when the first photographs of stars were beginning to be taken.
