Hot blue starIts story
In Pavo, a southern constellation born from the maps of Dutch navigators, shines this blue B-type star —hot, young, still rich in pristine hydrogen. Its light set out 279 years ago, around 1745, when Anders Celsius was proposing his temperature scale. Its surface exceeds twenty thousand degrees, and its sapphire hue makes it one of those brief but intense beacons that shine only for a few hundred million years before burning out.
