Its story

In the delicate southern Telescope —another stellar invention of Lacaille— shines a white star 377 light-years away. Its light set out around 1649, when Charles I of England was executed and Europe understood that a king could be tried by his people. A-type stars are in their prime: they burn with hydrogen spectral lines so clean they seem hand-written.
