Its story
In Telescopium, that modern constellation traced by Lacaille in the 18th century, glows an orange K-type star. Its light set off 685 years ago: it was crossing space as the Black Death reached Sicily in 1347 and began its devastating march across Europe. A muted ember inside a figure invented to honour the very instrument that learned to read it.
