Its story

In Sagittarius, the archer-centaur aiming at the very heart of the Milky Way, shines an orange K-type star some 298 light-years away. Its light set out when the European Enlightenment was beginning to dream of classifying all human knowledge and the first scientific voyages were crossing the oceans. Cooler than the Sun, its coppery glow blends with the myriad lights of the celestial encampment encircling the galactic centre.
