Hot blue starIts story
2 Cygni is a hot blue star nearly eight hundred and forty-three light-years away, on the outstretched wing of the Swan. Its B-type atmosphere reaches temperatures several times that of the Sun and emits an intense blue-white glow, typical of young, massive stars. It soars through one of the most star-dense regions of the whole sky, where the Milky Way broadens into a luminous river.
