Hot blue starIts story
Toward the dusty heart of Sagittarius, some 901 light-years away, burns a hot blue star that Hipparcos pinned down in its catalogue at the end of the twentieth century. Its light departed when the taifa kingdoms were fragmenting in al-Andalus and Europe was entering the Romanesque era. A nearly thousand-year-old gleam, arriving on time for its appointment with Earth.
