Cool red starIts story
In Lyra, where the melody of the summer sky is traditionally tuned, glows this M-class red giant at six hundred and nineteen light-years. Its light departed around 1407, deep in the Western Schism, when two —at times three— pontiffs were disputing authority over Latin Christendom. Its deep red, born of a cool and vast atmosphere, contrasts with the piercing white of its neighbours.
