Highly luminous starIts story
Closing the batch, a luminous K-class orange in Scutum, 1,744 light-years away—its light set out around the year 281, during Diocletian's Roman Tetrarchy, when the Empire was reorganizing itself into four heads to keep from collapsing. A bright orange giant, too luminous to be mistaken for any ordinary dwarf, lost in a celestial region dense with star fields.
