Its story
This white light left Scutum in the 19th century, when refracting telescopes were growing in size and the first modern observatories were rising. It is an A-type star, hot and bluish-white, several times more luminous than the Sun. Scutum is a small constellation, yet it is crossed by one of the densest and brightest regions of the visible Milky Way.
