What is HIP 88839

It glows with the orange warmth of a K-class star in the starlit heart of Sagittarius, 339 light-years away. The light crossing our atmosphere tonight departed when Newton was publishing his «Principia Mathematica» and rewriting the mechanics of the cosmos. It is one of countless anonymous points outlining, unintentionally, the contours of the galactic center.
