What is HIP 86170

Deep within Scorpius pulses a yellow beacon from the Sun's own family. Its light took roughly 166 years to cross the void —it set out when Lewis Carroll published Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in 1865— and still slips today between the celestial scorpion's claws. It shines with quiet poise, like an elder sister of the Sun choosing a discreet corner of the southern sky.
