Ome-2

Its story

Omega-2 Scorpii forms an optical pair with its sister Omega-1 at the head of the Scorpion, just west of red Antares. A yellow type G giant some 291 light-years away, its hue resembles the Sun's but belongs to a much older, far more swollen star. It is a member of the Scorpius–Centaurus association, the largest grouping of young stars near the solar system, though it itself is already crossing the autumn of its stellar biography.
