Its story
In the winding Dragon, coiled around the pole star, shines an orange K-type giant at 623 light-years. Its coppery light left its surface around 1402, deep in the late Middle Ages, while Castile vied with Aragon and the Iberian kingdoms were taking shape. Cooler than the Sun yet noticeably larger, it keeps the flush of mature stars.
