Its story

In Scorpius, that ancient constellation with its curving sting, this F-class yellow-white shines at some one hundred and fifty-eight light-years. Its light departed in 1868, the year Pierre Janssen and Norman Lockyer, observing an eclipse, identified helium in the solar spectrum before it was ever found on Earth. A delicate coincidence: just as we learned to read the spectrum, this star was already sending its own.
