Guniibuu is a close neighbour, an orange dwarf in Ophiuchus only 19.4 light-years away. Also known as 70 Ophiuchi, its name comes from Australian Aboriginal traditions, where it represents the red-breasted robin. It forms a binary system long studied by 19th-century astronomers, and is still considered today an ideal laboratory for understanding how two suns pair off across the millennia.

Guniibuu lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is June, when it culminates around midnight.
