Hot blue starIts story
A blue B-type star shines with incandescent coldness within the body of Scorpius, far hotter and more massive than the Sun. Its light set out around five centuries ago, when Vesalius was publishing his treatise on anatomy and science was learning to look upon the human being with the same precision used to measure the sky. After 534 light-years, its glow arrives as a reminder that to understand the cosmos and to understand ourselves were, from the very beginning, one and the same task.
