Epsilon Normae is a blue-white triple some 530 light-years away: the inner pair is a double-lined spectroscopic binary, two nearly identical B4 V twins circling each other every 3.26 days on a slightly eccentric orbit. Far beyond, a third B9 star joins them, separated by 22.8 arcseconds and reachable with steady binoculars in the small southern constellation of the Set Square.

Epsilon Norma lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is June, when it culminates around midnight.

- From Sydney it culminates about 76° above the horizon.
It can be seen from anywhere south of 42° N.
It ranks no. 2 in brightness among the 26 stars of Norma in our catalogue. To find it, start from Gamma 2 Norma, the brightest: it lies about 3° away (a fist at arm's length covers about 10°).
