Its story

Omega-1 Scorpii belongs to the young Sco-Cen complex, the closest stellar association to Earth, a brotherhood of blue suns born almost simultaneously from the same cloud of gas. It is a hot B-type star whose intensely blue light takes some 470 years to reach us. Alongside its visual twin Omega-2, it forms a pair that splits cleanly in binoculars, two distinct flames bound to the same cosmic cradle and still deep in stellar adolescence.
