Its story
Lambda Coronae Borealis shines near the semicircle of stars forming the Northern Crown, one of the sky's most recognizable and compact constellations. It is an F-type star some 136 light-years away, hotter and whiter than the Sun. Its light accompanies Alphecca, the central jewel that gives its name to the mythical diadem cast by the goddess Ariadne into the firmament.
