Its story
In Boötes, that old herdsman driving the two bears around the pole, shines a yellow-white star of F type. Its light set out one hundred and sixty-six years ago, when the first transatlantic telegraph cables were being laid and two continents began speaking to each other in a matter of minutes. Slightly hotter than the Sun, it gives off a clear, pale-gold tone proper to its class. It is a lesser light on the silhouette of the celestial herdsman, present every night for those willing to pause and seek it beyond its bright Arcturus.
