Its story

Tau-2 Lupi is a white A-type star lying some 319 light-years away, set within the body of the Wolf, one of the oldest southern constellations and already catalogued by Ptolemy. Its quiet brightness blends into a dense star field crossed by the distant clouds of the Milky Way and bordering the stellar nurseries of Centaurus and Scorpius.
