Its story
In Canes Venatici —the hunting dogs that pursue the Bear— lives an orange K-type star. Its light spent some two hundred eighty-four years reaching us: it left when Newton had just published the Principia and celestial mechanics was making its debut as a science. Cooler and more golden than the Sun, it shines in a tranquil amber tone. To look at it is to glimpse the light of a cosmos contemporary with the early Enlightenment.
