Hot blue starIts story
A hot B-class star whose blue incandescence cuts across Centaurus from 271 light-years away. The light arriving tonight set out when Cassini was observing Jupiter's Great Red Spot and European astronomers were beginning to measure the sky with pendulum clocks. It burns at temperatures the Sun will never know: a brief and fierce flame in the southern stream.
