Its story
Within the Hunting Dogs, Canes Venatici —that small celestial pack pursuing the Great Bear— shines an orange type K star, cooler and ruddier than the Sun. Its light took roughly 412 years to cross the void: it set out when Galileo first turned his telescope toward the Moon and discovered its craters. It appears today as a tempered ember among the backs of the hounds that bark at the great northern bear.
