Its story
64 Virginis lies in the Virgin, that vast zodiacal constellation that houses the cluster of galaxies nearest to our Milky Way. It is a white A-type star some 215 light-years away, hotter and more luminous than the Sun, with the crisp paleness typical of its spectral class. Its light began its journey around the start of the nineteenth century, when Beethoven was composing his first symphonies and Europe was emerging from the Napoleonic era.
