What is Xi 1 Centauri
ξ¹ Centauri shines within the Centaur's body, the constellation that hosts Alpha Centauri, the closest stellar system to our Sun. White and of A-type, some 221 light-years away, she shares her sky with mythic southern landscapes: the Southern Cross to the southwest, the Milky Way crossing her flank from side to side.

Xi 1 Centauri lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is April: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
