Its story

Another hot blue point in winding Hydra, some 507 light-years away. The light catalogued today by the Gaia satellite left this star when Hernán Cortés was landing at Veracruz and the European world was beginning to redraw the map of the planet. Its brightness holds steady, indifferent to five centuries of human history.
