Its story
11 Virginis is a white A-type star about 144 light-years away, in the eastern region of the Virgin. Its light left around 1882, during another transit of Venus that astronomers from across the world tracked from observatories and polar expeditions. It shines with the crisp, calm light of white stars, almost like a point of cold silver framed against a spring sky.
