Its story
37 Ceti belongs to the family of yellow-white F-type stars, a touch hotter and brighter than the Sun. It lies close by stellar standards: only 76 light-years separate us, a distance its light crosses in under a century. The light reaching us today set out when Japan's surrender was being signed in 1945. A quiet neighbour of the sea monster, easily reached by the most modest instrument.
