Its story
58 Ursae Majoris shines white about 174 light-years away, within the Great Bear, that figure whose Plough asterism nobody ever learns to forget. It is a type-F star, slightly hotter than the Sun, with that yellowish paleness so unmistakably its own. The light reaching a human eye tonight set out in the mid-nineteenth century, when the first railways on the continent were being inaugurated.
