Its story
86 Leonis glows 315 light-years away, on the haunch of the celestial Lion. It is an orange K-type star, cooler than the Sun, with the unhurried light of a mature giant. Leo is among the oldest zodiacal constellations: the Egyptians already linked its silhouette to the summer sun, when the Nile rose and the flood brought life back to the land.
