Its story

In Centaurus another orange star breathes, a placid K-type, just over two hundred and seventy light years out. Its light departed when the young American republic still wavered between federalists and anti-federalists, long before the telegraph existed. It arrives warm and patient, crossing a constellation crowded with blue giants and famous neighbours without seeking to compete.
