Its story
59 Leonis shines 151 light-years away as a white A5 III giant, with a temperature near 8,000 K that gives it the blue-white hue typical of young giants. It is also a visual double, splittable only with large-aperture telescopes. It lies in Leo's quieter southern reaches, far from Regulus and the Sickle, where the constellation softens toward the southern sky.
