Its story

Within the long serpent of Hydra shines a white class A star some 206 light-years away. Its light set out around 1819, when the SS Savannah was making the first transatlantic crossing under steam and independence was spreading through the new Hispanic-American republics. Hot and luminous, its crystalline tone makes it one of those discreet but unmistakable points scattered along the constellation's spine.
