Hot blue starIts story
On the keel of Carina blazes a blue B-type star, far hotter and more luminous than the Sun — an incandescent beacon of the southern hemisphere. Its 476 light-years set out when Copernicus was still revising manuscripts and no one yet suspected that Earth was simply one point among infinities. To see it is to glimpse a universe already thinking in heliocentric terms long before we could put it into words.
