Its story

In the immense Hydra, the celestial serpent stretching across more than a quarter of the sky, shines a yellow-white star of serene character. Its light began its journey 82 years ago, when the Second World War was ending and the world was peering into the atomic age between rubble and promises. Slightly hotter than the Sun and pale in tone, it recalls a candle just lit in a silent room.
