Its story
It is a white F-type star set into the winding tail of Hydra, the sky s most extensive constellation. Its light took some 229 years to arrive: it set out when the Royal Society was debating the first vaccines and Beethoven was publishing his early sonatas. Hotter and more luminous than the Sun, in its F class it holds the frontier between solar gold and bluish white. Hydra barely underlines it: the celestial snake keeps its scattered jewels jealously.
